Our Story
A welcoming preschool in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale, built around strong relationships between children, families, teachers and the community.
Rooted in Downtown Fort Lauderdale
First United Methodist Preschool has long served families from its downtown Fort Lauderdale location. Licensed through Broward County Child Care (License #45188), the school is a warm, familiar place where young children can learn, build confidence and feel known.
Our focus is the whole child. Language, social-emotional, cognitive and physical development, along with caring relationships, all work together throughout the day.
“Our mission is to establish a cooperative partnership between school, home and community for the optimum benefit of our children.”
That partnership guides the way children, families, teachers and the wider community work together.
Parents Are Part of the School Community
First Kids believes that the best early-learning experience comes from teachers and families working together. The school’s Open Door Policy encourages parents to call, visit and participate in the program.
Teachers plan with each child’s individual needs, strengths, interests and social context in mind. This gives every classroom thoughtful structure while making room for children to learn at their own pace.
